Believe it or not, this fall I will celebrate my 20th High School Reunion with folks whom I've not seen the vast majority since the 10 year reunion.   We (not that I had a say in it) have opted to do a combined reunion -- so there will be four classes all celebrating together.   To help in the cost we are raffling off a Carnival Cruise.   If you would like to learn more, visit our raffle site.

Tickets are just $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00.

An atheist professor was teaching a college class at Alabama and he told the class that he was going to prove that there is no God. He said, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you 15 minutes!" Ten minutes went by.

He kept taunting God, saying, "Here I am, God. I'm still waiting." He got down to the last couple of minutes and a big 240 pound football player in the class walked up to the professor, hit him full force in the face, and sent him flying from his platform. The professor struggled up, obviously shaken and yelled, "What's the matter with you? Why did you do that?"

The football player replied, "GOD WAS BUSY; HE SENT ME!"

"Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshippers meeting together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were they to become 'unity' conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship. Social religion is perfected when private religion is purified. The body becomes stronger as its members become healthier. The whole church of God gains when the members that compose it begin to seek a better and a higher life." -- A.W. Tozer

20 "I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.    22 "I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.  -- John 17:  20 - 23 (NLT)

We are not called to be the same, there's plenty of scripture telling us that--1 Corinthians 12, just to name one.   Rather we were all called to serve ONE--one God, one saviour, one master.

While we serve one master, we can't effectively do it alone, we are given a body of believers as support.   However, it is vital that this body conforms to Christ, not to each other.   We must be single minded in our objective, using the team approach to achieve it.

With my unintentional focus on "church" this issue, this movie sprung immediately to mind.   I really don't know why it did, but it did; and I've always been taught when in doubt follow your first reaction.   So.....Steve Martin's Leap of Faith.   By no means a classic, in the traditional sense of the word (unlike his timeless classic The Jerk) but certainly one of my favorites.   If you haven't seen the story of this tent revival 'snake-oil salesman' turned honest, you've really missed a good time.  For those of you who have seen it--look at it again in light of the Words of Wisdom and Wisdom from the Word sections of this issue; it may be eye-opening.

In any event, take a leap of faith and buy "Leap of Faith" for your collection, you will watch it more than once...I swear.

Can you believe it?  There is a site (well, actually about a hundred of them) dedicated to listing the most popular site.   However, a bit of research showed me that this site is the most trusted.    I was amazed at how many of the most popular sites in the US are also my most popular sites.

However, I was also amazed at how many (more than half) of the top 100 sites I had either never heard of before, or have never visited.   I guess I am a fish swimming against (most) of the current.

Check out the list and see how your "favorites" compare with the rest of the nation.
