OK, OK, I've been told
my many that the birthday candle should
have been on today's issue. I seems that my
celebration was
premature; Friday Funnies is really one today. But
hey, when they are
that young, they'll never know, so it really won't make any
difference...honest.
Today marks the first day of the 2008 Summer
Olympics in Beijing, China.
All those involved will be in my prayers. A special
prayer to those
who are there ministering to the community of Athletes and the
residents.

"There's nothing more restful than taking orders from fools." ~ Anonymous
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to live, and only a few find it" -- Matthew 7:13 The gate to (for) an eternal life is narrow
indeed. Some would
say that means that being a Christian is
difficult. I certainly would
not disagree with that as a possibility. However,
I question
if following Christ is really more difficult than
not. I believe our
difficulty is different, less socially acceptable, less
common, but not
necessarily more difficult.
In fact, I might suggest that our path may be narrow, but
our
guide is better...making the journey more enjoyable even if
different
than the majority.
In John, Jesus is calls Himself the "gate."
In Luke Jesus us warns
us there may be challenges to our
entry. But, there are countless
rewards for the effort." The greatest of these is
the ability to call
ourselves His children.
Go to the small gate, force yourself through it,
stay on the narrow path,
and pray for those frolicking on 'broad'way.
The episode we watched and laughed through was: Amber and John. You will be able to see when it 'airs' next, but also watch video segments of that episode and others. Of course, you could also sign-up to be ON the show. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the show, I know I have. It has been a source of enjoyment for not just my wife and I, but our friends as well.
There are times when I think that the drivers around me are the worst possible drivers in the world--most of them from Ohio. But then I got to a site that hosts photos like these, and I realize that maybe "they" aren't as bad as I thought. And you thought YOU had a bad day.... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
