Fall is really (finally) in the air. Over the past week, our temperature has dropped 30 degrees and we are finally getting rain. I actually needed a jacket (which I didn't have) when I went to dinner Wednesday evening. Life is good...
Last week's oxymoron comment in the introduction section generated some interesting responses. So, this week's Featured Funny is dedicated to oxymorons and the twisted English Language that forces us to use them.

All too often it seems we overlook the most basic (and imperative) of Christian beliefs becasue there are children's stories or Sunday School songs about them. It is as though we sometimes look at facts and consciously or sub-consciously say: "That can't be important if a five year old knows about it." Almost thumbing our nose at Christ's words. Today's featured passage may fall into that category. To some degree, I'm guilty. I can't hear or read the passage without my mind (at least) immediately breaking out into song -- hand motions and all. It is a
message for a child...a child of God...regardless of age.
What is requested, or even better, what is afforded us, can be life changing. We are graced (literally) with a new day, every day. In that day--this day--we have the opportunity to find joy and gladness in Christ. Joy comes with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and His testimony on our behalf. I want to rejoice in every day God grants me--regardless of what it holds, or rather, how the world views what it holds.
I am a growing fan of MP3's, but get frustrated by the different Digital Rights Management (DRM) programs out there. That's why I was excited when I learned that Amazon is now selling MP3's for between 89 and 99 cents, and without the DRM issues. Of course, they didn't have every song I wanted, but they had a lot of them, even some I couldn't get with my Napster account. What's better, its legal. Did you hear about that lady who just got sued for $250 million for "sharing" her songs? Anyway, if your MP3 player needs some new stuff, check out Amazon.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am pleased to announce
that I have
started my own On-Line Travel Agency. I hope this home-based
business opportunity will afford my family some extra income at the
same time as it provides some wonderful travel bonuses and incentives.
The next time you are planning a trip--overnight, or fortnight--please check-out my online travel site. All I ask is that you give me a chance; if you get a better deal elsewhere, take it. I don't want you to spend money unnecessarily, but I do hope you and I can both benefit. I think you will find my site www.TravelOutOfTown.com is comparable to the national sites like travelocity, hotels.com, etc. However, my site also offers some extras that I think can be a great benefit: like arranging to have your luggage delivered to your hotel room, tickets for shows and sporting events, flowers, and my favorite--a gift registry that allows you to "register" your honeymoon, or other getaway. Of course, I'm just learning what all I can do. I would welcome your questions or suggestions as I move forward with this new venture. |
